Yesterday, in worship one of the young children told me how much the church means to her and how she can't wait to get there on Sunday morning. When I asked her what her favorite part of the service is she said, "the hugging part." My heart melted and was instantly filled with joy. So often we ministers are worried about selecting the right songs, scriptures and words to transform the hearts of our congregation. Who knew a hug in the fellowship moments or at the door when she runs in to greet the people would be where so many in the church would experience the love spirit of love? Maybe worship is more about meeting the spirit of God and the love of Christ than even this seasoned minister knew. Thanks for a church family who values the experience of meeting one another face to face in an embrace of Christian love.
